Story
In 2042, Slavic armed forces under the leadership of the VOLK organization carried out a coup d’état, taking control of the capital of Russia. Soon after, VOLK declared war on all of Europe and the West, claiming that Russian citizens were being subjected to social experiments. However, no European governments admitted to these allegations. In response, special forces hired by NATO began gathering information on VOLK and the rumors of experiments. During the offensive, VOLK forces besieged the NATO fortress TABOR.
Then, in 2044, a rogue tactical nuclear bomb exploded on a small island off the coast of TABOR, causing massive destruction and revealing the hidden AdvantEDGE research facility. The explosion also caused radiation contamination of the continent, mixed with exotic chemicals, posing a threat to anyone on the continent.
Due to damaged communications and being trapped in the fallout zone, the remaining NATO forces were defeated. Intense fighting is now underway as each side suspects the other of being responsible for the explosion. In conditions of limited resources, factions are scouring rural areas for information and equipment to support their new mission.
Game mechanics
In the game, there is a “Raid” mode that can last from 45 minutes to 1 hour. 6 to up to 20 players can participate in the game, who will have the chance to fight against AI bosses and each other in different areas. Players can join the match within the first 10 minutes of starting. It is worth mentioning that the game supports haptic vests such as the bHaptics Tactsuit, allowing players to experience the game on a whole new level.
Players have their own statistics such as thirst, hunger, health, weight, and endurance. The statistics persist throughout the session, but in the safe zone, they slowly increase to 100% depending on upgrades in the hideout. Players can consume food and medicine to restore their statistics both in the hideout and during the game.
Treating wounds is also important in the game, as players can be shot in different parts of the body or damage some limbs and need to heal themselves using specific items. These items, such as syringes, can either boost or heal players.

Ghosts of Tabor is available on the Steam platform, which means you will be able to play Ghosts of Tabor on any VR equipment. The game is also available on the Quest platform, as well as other virtual reality platforms such as Oculus Rift, and is likely to be available on PSVR2, given the popularity of that platform, although there is no confirmation from the creators.
It’s worth noting that the graphical gap between Ghosts of Tabor on the Meta Quest and PC platforms like Steam and Oculus Rift is huge, although this difference may start to blur with the release of the upcoming Meta Quest 3, which is set to be twice as powerful and much lighter.
